Training and Education of Catechists on ‘Child Rights’ was organized by Legal Cell for Human Rights (LCHR) under the support of ‘Kindermissionswerk’ on 31st October 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Salana under the guidance of the Director of LCHR, Fr. Owen Chourappa SJ.

Training and Education of Catechists on ‘Child Rights’ was organized for the Catechists of Salana Parish – Tezpur Diocese to train them on child rights. There were 108 catechists participated in the training programme.

The Resource persons for the training programme were

1. Adv. Nandita Deka – ”Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015” and ” Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012″.
2. Ms. Mousumi Kalita – “The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006” and “The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act 1956”.
3. Mr. Rinku Parida – “Right to Education Act 2009” and “The Right to Information Act 2005”.
