INTERVENTIONS
1. FORMATION OF NELF
‘North East Legal Fraternity’ has been formed to tap the resources of legal competence among lawyers of region, with fifteen fraternity units. It operates in the seven states of North East India, which includes – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya. It introduces a spiritual dimension into their profession by teaching them to facilitate justice through the good practice of law
2. NELF LEADERSHIP TRAINING
‘Training on Strengthening NELF Leadership’, was organized for the Office Bearers & Executive Members of North East Legal Fraternity (NELF). The topics dealt in the event were Exploring the possibilities serving the region (by G.P. Amalraj, Educationist & Social Activist); Areas of NELF’s service & growth in the North East India (by Dr. J.B. Ekka, Principal Secretary- Panchayat & Rural Development, Transformation & Development, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour Welfare & Tea Tribes Welfare Departments, Govt. of Assam) and Organisational Commitment in Leadership (by Dr. Lukose P.J. Head, Department of Social Work, Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati);
3. LEGAL FRATERNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMME
LCHR TEAM organized number of ‘Legal Fraternity Awareness Programmes’ within the North Eastern region. The programmes were conducted to bring together young lawyers as units and provide them a platform to be fruitful lawyers with difference. Such units targeted to give service to the down trodden, the poor, the voiceless and for the people who are unaware that they enjoy various rights as human beings.
