About The Programme
In order to effectuate the objective of free legal aid and legal assistance for weaker and vulnerable sections of the society, lawyers are empanelled with the State Legal Services Authorities and District Legal Services Authorities to render legal services to the persons approaching the Legal Services Authorities for legal aid and assistance. Hence, adequate training is must for all advocates empanelled with Legal Services Authorities to discharge their duties professionally and effectively. Legal Cell For Human Rights conducted trainings for lawyers empanelled with the State Legal Services Authorities of 3 Northeastern States of India viz. Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority of those 3 states under the programme, “Training & Sensitization of 400 lawyers empanelled with the Legal Services Authorities of 8 states of NE including Sikkim” sponsored by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt. of India.
